About Lauren

My name is Lauren Nowicki and I like to call myself a producer and creator (but friends call me Lo)! I graduated from Chapman University in December 2016 where I studied Television and Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and minored in Political Science.

While my mother always thought I would pursue a career in math or science, it was no surprise to her that I had a passion for the news and wanted to study that in college. As a child, I loved finding out new information and standing in front of our fireplace giving news reports on everything I heard - from what I learned in school to the weather forecast.

Growing up, I loved coming home and watching the news with my mom and in the sixth grade, coming home to breaking news changed my family's life. My father was a Sheriff for Los Angeles County and was on the phone with my mom telling her what squad car he was taking cover behind while we watched from the local news helicopters on TV. Those few hours were extremely stressful for all of us and I am thankful to still have my dad with me here today, but being able to rely on the news and watch over him made my passion to do just that even stronger. He retired from the department soon after and immediately began to pursue his law degree which has taught me to keep fighting for what I believe in and to never give up my dreams.

Going into my first year of college, my main focus was to learn how to be the best reporter I could possibly be. Throughout those three and a half years at Chapman, various internships, and years of work since graduation, I have learned so much more and been exposed to countless other career opportunities.

My passion no longer lies in just reporting information but the production, research, shooting, and editing of it as well. I have grown to realize that the same passion I have for reporting the news stems from the love I had for math and science while growing up;

the ability to learn and research a topic and share it with the world.

It is this passion that inspired me to start my own YouTube channel nearly two years ago! In my career, I hope to be able to share my passion with the world each day and keep others informed on a variety of different topics in order to benefit those watching. Media, whether it is TV, film, or digital, has the power to influence society and instigate change and I would love to be a part of something that can do that for the greater good and bring people joy!

While the majority of my professional career experience has been producing at E! Entertainment focusing on live events and reality, I am interested in working in various other genres in TV and film as well as doing more hosting and on-camera work! I would also love to expand my knowledge in other areas of production such as casting and have the opportunity to work on a documentary or docu-series.

I am currently working on expanding my graphic design knowledge and creativity and I am also learning how to code, since it is a great skill to have moving forward in the digital space.

My hobbies include health and fitness, I love going to the gym and learning about how diet and exercise can bring about change, cooking, my 20+ houseplants, and expanding my knowledge in graphic design and media production. I also post weekly on my YouTube channel with a focus on food, fitness, and wellness as well as run a small business selling reusable products to make going green easy! I started this small business from the ground up, including the packaging and logos and I am so excited to see where it goes in the future.
